Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of TCF Coach, including tcfcoach.co and the practice app at app.tcfcoach.co. TCF Coach is operated by Arctic Studio, a business registered in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using TCF Coach, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What TCF Coach is, and isn't

TCF Coach is an independent practice tool for the Expression écrite (writing) and Expression orale (speaking) sections of the TCF Canada exam. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to France Éducation International or the official TCF Canada exam.

Feedback is generated by AI against the published TCF marking criteria. The levels, scores and corrections you receive are estimates to help you practise. They are not official results, they can be wrong, and we don't guarantee any score or outcome on the real exam or in any immigration or admissions process.

2. Your account

• You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission to use TCF Coach.
• Give us an accurate email address and keep your password secure.
• Accounts are personal. Don't share your login or let anyone else use your account.
• You're responsible for activity on your account.

3. Free and paid plans

A free account gives you Tests 1 and 2 with full feedback. A paid plan unlocks the full test bank. Current prices are shown on the pricing page in Canadian dollars, plus any applicable taxes.

All paid plans are subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each billing period (every month, every 3 months, or every 6 months, depending on the plan you choose) and charge your payment method at the then-current price, until you cancel. If we change a plan's price, we'll tell you by email before it applies to your next renewal.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

4. Cancellation and refunds

• You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in your account. Cancelling stops future renewals.
• After you cancel, you keep access to paid tests until the end of the period you've already paid for.
• You can switch plans at any time from the billing portal. The new plan starts immediately with a new billing period, and the unused part of your current plan is credited against its price. Any credit left over is applied to your future payments; it isn't paid out.
• Payments are non-refundable, including for partly used billing periods, except where a refund is required by law.
• If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it automatically. If it still can't be collected, your plan ends and your account returns to the free tests.
• Your past attempts and feedback stay in your history after a plan ends.

5. Your content

You own what you write and record. To provide the service, you give us permission to store, process and display your submissions, and to send them to the service providers that power grading and transcription, as described in our Privacy Policy. We don't sell your content or use it to advertise to you.

Please don't submit other people's personal information or anything you don't have the right to share.

6. Our content

The practice tasks, prompts, marking guidance, feedback format and the rest of TCF Coach belong to Arctic Studio. You may use them for your own exam preparation. You may not copy, republish, resell or redistribute them, or use them to build a competing product.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape, bulk-download or otherwise automatically extract content from the service;
• reverse engineer, overload or try to break the service or its security;
• get around limits on free accounts or paid access;
• submit unlawful, abusive or harmful content; or
• use the service in a way that breaks the law.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we close a paid account for a serious breach, you won't be refunded for the remaining period.

8. Changes to the service

We're continually improving TCF Coach, so features and content may change. We aim to keep the service available but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

TCF Coach is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we don't make any promises about the service beyond those in these terms, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including exam results, missed deadlines, or immigration or admissions decisions. Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived by contract, including Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002.

10. Closing your account

You can stop using TCF Coach at any time. To have your account and data deleted, email support@tcfcoach.co; see our Privacy Policy for details. Cancel any paid plan first so you aren't charged again.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll notify you by email before they take effect. If you keep using TCF Coach after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
